FRANCIS STREET PARK

Port of the Angels is the name given to the calm waters that border Francis Street Park. It is the water and the steep terrain of the land that are the focus and the character of this 3.5 acre park. Extensive contouring returned the land to a more natural condition by creating hills and swales that reflect attention inward and down to the waters. Structures help define the land. As the basis for a custom cast play structure, the design team created study sketches of a native harbor seal. Walkways and a waterfront trail complete the experience of the park.
