The retail/dining complex is composed to create a sense of community with roots extending deep into the region's past. In homage to the project's rain shadow location, a large copper sun symbol hovers above the main entrance. At the base of the corner tower is a gathering place, a plaza for seating or dining on the sunny south side of the building. Trellises protected with panels of clear lexan cast shadows of dappled light, a quality of light much as that found under the canopy of the oaks characteristic of the area.
